Woven by Toyota contributes to Toyota's once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by our history of continuous invention "for the sake of others," our mission is to expand the definition of mobility, enhance how mobility contributes to society, and challenge the norms of mobility with people-centric innovation.
We operate around four pillars: AD/ADAS for autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems, the Arene vehicle software production platform for SDVs (Software Defined Vehicles), Woven City as a mobility test track, and Cloud & AI for digital infrastructure supporting collaboration. Toyota's "Woven City" is a fully connected ecosystem being built at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The Research and Development (R&D) team at Woven City will create innovative products and services by leveraging technologies developed by Toyota Motor Corporation.

🧑💼 Seeking Candidates 🧑💼
We are looking for engineers passionate about realizing an innovative data platform at the heart of Woven City.
This platform will be utilized by innovators, accelerating their innovations. We will develop microservices (such as integrated APIs) for AI, mobility, energy management, healthcare, lifestyle, smart homes, e-commerce, and other Woven City services.
In this position, you will drive the entire development and implementation process, from cross-functional specifications and requirements definition.
This position reports to the team lead and is a hybrid (remote and office) work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data architectures, data processing, and data analysis across multiple data domains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Build components that ensure the health of data flows, data storage, and related services.
- Contribute to documentation and improving code maintainability.
- Develop and provide best practices in collaboration with each team.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a disability certificate issued by the Japanese government.
- Professional experience in at least one programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
- Experience with SaaS, IaaS, PaaS (AWS, GCP), and synchronous/asynchronous API design (REST, gRPC, Kafka).
- Experience designing data architectures across multiple data domains using integrated analytics platforms like Databricks.
- Background in large-scale batch processing or stream processing.
- Business-level English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth professional experience with RDBMS, DocumentDB, or KVS.
- Experience using big data platforms, machine learning platforms, and stacks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Understanding of standards related to data and data governance.
- Understanding of security practices related to data management.
- Familiarity with DevOps and DataOps best practices in cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
